Burriin Risk SystemsBURRIINRISK SYSTEMS
OHS (Psychological Health) Regulations, now in force

Visible. Controllable. Defensible.

Burriin Risk Systems helps organisations identify the psychosocial hazards that standard frameworks miss, then build controls that hold up under scrutiny. Built on a proprietary 16+5 hazard model that includes five First Nations-specific hazards no other consultancy assesses.

The Burriin premise

Most psychosocial risk processes assume the hazards are already visible.

Standard WHS frameworks were built to identify a known set of workplace hazards. They were not built to see the ones that sit underneath, cultural load, identity strain, community weight, culturally unsafe environments, and disruption to social and emotional wellbeing.

Burriin was built on the opposite assumption. Before you can control a risk, you have to be able to see it. Our 16+5 model starts by making the invisible hazards visible, so the controls you put in place are actually defensible when they’re tested.

How we work with you

01

Psychosocial Risk Assessment

A structured assessment across all 21 hazards (the 16 standard WorkSafe Victoria Compliance Code hazards plus our 5 First Nations-specific hazards), giving you a complete picture rather than a partial one.

02

Control Plan Development

Practical, defensible control plans built from the assessment findings, designed to withstand regulator scrutiny and stand up in practice, not just on paper.

03

Consultant-Led Rollout

Delivered through our Consultant Portal, a purpose-built platform that guides consultants through assessment and control planning consistently, every time.

The 16+5 Hazard Model

Sixteen hazards are already recognised under the WorkSafe Victoria Compliance Code. We add five more that are specific to First Nations employees and communities: Cultural Load, Identity Strain, Community Weight, Culturally Unsafe Environment, and SEWB Disruption.

It’s the only model of its kind, and it’s the foundation of everything we do.
